MESH and Masonic Partners donate over $20,000 to Bread for the City
In coordination with various other Masonic Lodges and partners, MESH Charities helped to raise and donate more than $20,000 to Bread for the City - the designated charity of the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia, Alan L. Gordon. Bread for the City assists DC residents with low income to grow and succeed. Their services include providing food, clothing, medical care, social/legal services with an aim to reduce poverty for all.
MESH Awards $8000 Grant to
John S. Mulholland Family Foundation
Through its ongoing grant program, MESH Charities awarded a donation of $8,000 to support the important work of the John S. Mulholland Family Foundation. This was in partnership with Anacostia-Pentalpha Lodge No. 21 which provided an initial donation which MESH matched.
The Foundation honors the memory of John Mulholland by working tirelessly to fight food insecurity in the Washington DC area. The Foundation organizes food pantries as well as deliveries in order to support the working poor who are in need More information may be found on the John S. MESH Awards $5000 Grant to La Clinica del Pueblo
Through its ongoing grant program, MESH Charities awarded a donation of $5,000 to support the important work of the local charity La Clinica del Pueblo.
Since 1983, La Clinica del Pueblo has been addressing the distinct health needs of the community through comprehensive primary medical care, wrap-around services across the life spectrum, mental health and substance abused treatment, medical interpretation and language access, community health, and related services to increase including and health equity for Latino immigrants. Dedication of Philadelphia Shriners Hospital Driver’s Lounge in Honor of Illustrious George J. Stoklas
On May 14, 2021, MESH Charities and Singleton-Hope-Lebanon Lodge No. 7, presented the Philadelphia Shrine Hospital with a donation of $10,000 to name the Driver’s Lounge in honor of their member and the current Almas Shriners Potentate, Illustrious Sir George J. Stoklas.
This presentation was possible through matching donation program of MESH Charities. Following a donation of $5,000 toward this project by the lodge, a further $5,000 was matched by MESH. This joint donation will assist the noble work of the Philadelphia Shrine Hospital for Children, specifically their driver program which provides for free transportation to the hospital from other regions, including Washington, DC.
MESH Awards $500 Matching Grant to Support AU Library
Through its matching grant program, MESH Charities awarded a donation of $500 to support the American University (AU) Library. The Eagle Lodge No. 1893 provided an initial donation of $250 for the AU Library, which MESH matched for a total donation of $500.
The library is an important centerpiece of any institution of learning. MESH is proud to be able to invest in the research, collections, and academic endeavors supported by the library at American University.
MESH Awards Matching Grant of $8000 to ArtStream
Through its matching grant program, MESH Charities awarded a donation of $8000 to support the work of ArtStream. This was done in conjunction with Washington-Daylight Lodge No. 14 and individual donations, which MESH matched for a total donation of $8000.
ArtStream provides opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to gain the skills and confidence to engage with the world, through a variety of programs focusing on collaborative performance. MESH Awards Matching Grant of $1000 to Martha's Table
Through its matching grant program, MESH Charities awarded a donation of $1000 to support the work of Martha’s Table. This was done in conjunction with Friendship Chapter OES, matching their initial donation of $500 in honor of Peter Brusoe, which MESH matched for a total donation of $1000.
Martha’s Table is a pillar of the Washington DC community. Through a variety of programs, Martha’s Table supports strong children, strong families, and strong communities by increasing access to education, health and wellness, and family resources. Through its matching grant program, MESH Charities awarded a donation of $5000 to support the work of Safe Shores. This was done in conjunction with Washington Daylight Lodge No. 14 matching their initial donation as well as those of some individual members, which MESH matched for a total donation of $5000.
Safe Shores provides intervention, hope and healing for children and families affected by abuse, trauma and violence in the District of Columbia, and prevents child abuse through education and training. MESH is proud to support the important work that Safe Shores does to provide such important services and assistance to our community. MESH Awards $4000 in Grants to Scottish Rite Charities
MESH is proud to announce that it continues to support the charitable and philanthropic efforts of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, with several contributions totaling $4000.
Joining with William R. Singleton-Hope-Lebanon Lodge No. 7, MESH has matched an initial contribution to provide a total of $2000 donated in memory of Illustrious Kenneth D. Fuller to an endowed scholarship established in honor of Illustrious Ronald A. Seale by the Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (AASR). This scholarship will assist in-need students to afford the cost of attendance to an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning. Additionally, MESH has partnered with Washington-Daylight Lodge No. 14 to assist the local DC Scottish Rite Foundation. Following an initial donation from the lodge of $1000, MESH has matched for a total donation of $2000. The Scottish Rite Foundation of DC undertakes an array of noble endeavors, including supporting the work of the Scottish Rite Center for Childhood Language Disorders, academic scholarships for local students, and annual volunteer service awards.
